Day Trips to Take During Presidents' Day

Presidents' Day is coming up and we can't wait for a long weekend. Instead of sitting at home, make a vacation out of it and go out with your family. No need to spend extra money and go to another state, staycations are the best. Not only will you be having fun but you will be supporting local businesses as well. Check out our top destinations to make Presidents' Day with your family a memorable one.

Downtown Annapolis

The Capital is home to great food, unique stores, and rich history. Take a tour of the State Capital and explore the Naval Academy! While you are there, we recommend getting some classic Maryland grub at Galway Bay, Chick and Ruths Delly, and Dry 85. Want more ideas? Check out their website.

Ellicott City

Right near our Plum Tree Apartments, Historic Ellicott City is a popular area for visitors this season. Packed with fun stores and great restaurants, this small town is great for the entire family to enjoy. We recommend stopping for some sweet treats at Sweet Cascades. The kids will love it. Don't forget your walking shoes!

Avalanche Xpress

Want something a little more adventurous? Go snow tubing at this resort. Perfect for all ages, this resort has something for everyone. Want to stay warm? While the family is sliding down the mountain, sit and watch on the heated outdoor patio in front of Avenue Ale House & Pizza Loft.

Downtown Frederick

Similar to Ellicott City and Annapolis, this area is a great town to visit with the family. Each corner you turn, you'll find more interesting shops to go in. Bundle up though! It can get pretty windy and chilly around this time of year.

National Aquarium

Want to go somewhere where it's less chilly? Stay inside and explore the wonderful world of nature the world has to offer- right in Baltimore. This is one of the top aquariums in the country and it shows. With plenty of exhibits to visit, it's easy to spend an entire day here.

What are your plans for Presidents' Day? Take some time to enjoy this long weekend by going to any of these local places. It will be a fun start to the new year!
