Festive Fun in Baltimore and Annapolis

The holiday season is here. Time to get out your scarves, hats, and mittens. Our favorite part of the season is seeing the lights, spending time with family and spreading joy. So now it's time to get out and have fun this season by exploring winter festive fun near you. We're listing our top winter activities to do with your family this season. Don't forget to bundle up.

Miracle on 34th Street

Get into the Christmas spirit and support the Baltimore community by going to 34th Street. You'll find one of the most decorated streets in Maryland. Explore and go inside of the themed houses. It's a perfect occasion to bring the entire family. You'll be amazed by the winter wonderland that these homeowners have created. You might even get a special visit from Santa. Grab some hot cocoa and a camera. You'll definitely do not want to miss this spectacle.

Merriweather Symphony of Lights

Walk or drive through a Columbia tradition. Not only will you have a great time, but the proceeds from the event go to Howard County General Hospital so you can give back this holiday season. You can even bring your pup with you. You'll find themed displays that will transport you into a winter wonderland. Tune in to the radio station they give you at the front gate for an immersive musical experience as well. You'll hear some of the most classic Christmas tunes.

Lights on the Bay

Go on a scenic drive along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Located in Sandy Point State Park, you'll see over 60 animated and stationary illuminated displays that perfectly show the meaning of Christmas. It's over two miles long. Bring the kids and they can participate in a nightly scavenger hunt. You'll be supporting SPCA of Anne Arundel County with some holiday spirit.

Grand Illumination

On December 1st, witness the annual tree lighting in Downtown Annapolis. Grab some hot chocolate and ring in the holidays with this fantastic display. The whole family can have fun. There will be dancing and carols - anyone can join in! You will also be able to see Santa when he comes for a visit.

Ice Rink at Baltimore's Inner Harbor

Grab your skates and have some chilly fun at the Ice Rink. Get prime waterfront views while you skate in the winter. Throughout the month, Santa Claus visits the skaters! Check the calendar for when he plans to take a trip down from the North Pole. Don't have skates? No problem - you can rent them there.

German Christmas Village

Enjoy an authentic Christmas village in Charm City. This unique market runs through all of December. You'll find great vendors offering festive arts and crafts. Make sure to stop by the famous German vendor Kathe Wohlfahrt and pick up some of her famous wood carving and her hand-blown glass ornaments. After you are done your shopping, hop on over to the beer garden for some authentic German food.
