This summer is a hot one! If you're looking for ways to cool down, that get you out of the house and away from Netflix, check out these great swimming spots near and around our A&G communities.

For our residents in Anne Arundel County, here are some great swimming spots to check out this summer.

1. Breezy Point Beach and Campground, 5300 Breezy Point Road, Chesapeake Beach
Breezy Point Beach is located right nextdoor in Calvert County! It has great beaches, areas for camping, picnics, fishing, and even playgrounds, charcoal grills, and a concession stand. For more information on its other features and times, please go to their website.

2. Bay Front Park - Brownies Beach, Route 261 (Bayside Road), Chesapeake Beach
Brownies Beach is only one hour from Anne Arundel County, and the admission fee is very affordable. On a hot day this is another great swim spot to enjoy. Visit their website for more information.

3. Sandy Point State Park, 1100 East College Parkway, Annapolis
Right in Anne Arundel County, Sandy Point has swimming beaches, picnicking, fishing, crabbing, boating, hiking, youth group camping, areas of historical Interest, and wildlife viewing. The park also offers a marina store and boat rentals. For more information, look to their website.

For our residents in both Baltimore County and Howard County, you don't have to drive more than an hour to enjoy some time by the water!

1. Cascade Lake, 2844 Snydersburg Road, Hampstead
This swim spot is less than an hour from the Plum Tree Community in Howard County!
Not only is it conveniently located within a half hour from many places in Baltimore County, it has so much to offer in the fun department. Cascade Lake is a spring fed lake that has slides and platforms for people to enjoy. It also has a Spray 'N Playground for those who are not strong swimmers, but still enjoy the water. 2. Gunpowder Falls – Hammerman Area, 7200 Graces Quarters, Chase
Hammerman features a swimming beach, food concessions, four rentable picnic pavilions, picnicking, playgrounds, canoe/kayak rentals, fishing, and even short hiking trails. A great swimming spot that has fun activities for everyone to enjoy. Please visit their website for more information.

3. Beaver Dam, 10820 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville.
